Intense, sometimes uncontrollable annoyance. Chronic anger is emotionally and physically draining and can negatively affect all areas of your life.
Causes: Anger is a normal emotion, but can be destructive if you don’t deal with it in an appropriate way. Anger usually arises when you feel you are under threat or not getting what you deserve. Some people get a buzz from the feeling of power they get when they are angry.
Effects: Anger that you cannot control may cause you to commit a violent crime, abuse someone, hurt yourself, or act in a way that you regret later. The adrenalin rush from feeling angry can make you frustrated and anxious.
Solutions: Recognize the triggers for your anger.
Express anger in private.
Resolve buried issues from your past.
Learn relaxation techniques.
Take up a non-competitive sport, such as running.
